Uber Planning to Strengthen Its Hold in Asian Market with More Employees







In its latest job posting, leading online local cab booking service Uber has announced that it is planning to hire “tens of thousands” of new employees in next few years. The taxi booking site is in the process of building the Uber Recruiting Platform, which it hopes will help the company in attracting the best talent in the world.
Currently operating in 55 countries and over 200 cities, Uber has expanded its business rapidly since its inception in 2009. According to latest reports, Uber is valued as an over $40 billion venture. However, the company faces tough competition in the Asian markets.
China’s two biggest native taxi-hailing services DidiDache and KuaidiDache recently announced their mergence, which consequently has raised the competition bars for Uber there. In India, native taxi-hailing app Ola Cabs is in full swing, and is giving Uber a hard time to hold its foot in the Indian market. Plus, South Korea has labeled Uber as an ‘illegal’ taxi service, since it stores customers’ credit details, which is illegal in the country.
